Lock anything.
Only you can open it.

AES-256 + memory-hard key 100+ years to crack a strong password Nothing uploaded, ever

A file you can't afford anyone else to open — a client's papers, your financials, private photos, a folder you carry on a USB stick. ARIA LOCK seals it with AES-256 and a memory-hard key. The lock lives inside the file, so it stays locked anywhere you copy it, and only you can open it or change its password — even on another computer. Nothing is uploaded, and we never hold a key that can open your files.

Windows has no real lock.

If you lose the laptop, hand over the USB, or send the file, anyone can read it. A password on a Word document is trivially removed. ARIA LOCK is the offline vault: seal it, and only you hold the key.

The file never leaves your computer

Every online "lock my PDF" tool uploads your file to a stranger's server first. For something private, that is the opposite of safe. ARIA LOCK runs entirely on your machine — nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Only you can open it

We never hold a key that can open your files. Not us, not a court order to us, not a breach of our servers. That is what "only you" has to mean for a lock to be worth anything.

Lock almost anything

One engine, many things to protect. Pick it, set a password, it is sealed.

Files & folders

Lock a single file, a whole folder and everything in it, or many files at once. Names inside a locked folder are encrypted too, so even the structure is hidden.

Drives & USB sticks

Lock the whole contents of a removable drive into one encrypted container. To open it on another computer, install ARIA LOCK there and use your password — the container carries its own crypto, so it opens anywhere you can run the app.

Your mailbox

Lock your local Outlook or Thunderbird mailbox. When locked, no one can open that mail on your computer without your password.

The honest limit: we lock the mail stored on your computer. We cannot lock webmail like Gmail — it lives on the provider's servers, so there is no file on your PC to lock. We never claim otherwise.

Over 100 years — and here's the arithmetic

No vendor should ask you to take "bank-grade" on faith. Here is exactly why a strong password is safe, so you can check it.

Memory-hard by design

The password key is derived with Argon2id, which needs a large block of memory per guess. That caps how many guesses an attacker can run in parallel — an 80 GB GPU manages only a few hundred at once, not billions. A fast cipher would let them try billions a second; this does not.

The numbers

Assume a large farm sustaining a pessimistic one million guesses a second. A strong five-word password (about 70 bits) then takes on the order of tens of millions of years. A generated key is astronomically beyond that. A weak password — one word, a name, a birthday — falls in seconds, and the app tells you so, live, before you lock anything.

The 100-year figure is for a strong password. ARIA LOCK shows the real crack-time for the exact password you type, and can generate a strong passphrase for you. Honesty about a weak password is what makes the number for a strong one believable.

Only you control the lock

A lock you can't manage is a trap. ARIA LOCK is always in your hands.

Change the password anytime

Re-key a locked file whenever you want. A locked file is never a dead end for the person who made it.

Remove the lock

Done protecting something? Permanently unlock it and remove the locked copy in one step.

Lock many at once

Select a batch of files and lock them all under one password in a single pass — each sealed into its own container, so losing one never risks the others.

Recover on a new computer

Crashed system or new PC? Restore your identity from the recovery code you saved at setup, then open your files as before. We never hold a key that can open them — the recovery code is yours alone.

Proof you can check yourself

A security tool should not ask for blind trust. Verify the exact file you downloaded before you run it — no seal to take on faith.

Questions

Can someone brute force my locked file?

Not in any practical time, if your password is strong. The key is derived with memory-hard Argon2id, so a strong five-word password takes well over 100 years to brute force even on a large GPU farm. The app shows the real crack-time for your actual password before you commit, and a weak password is honestly shown as weak.

Can you open my files if I lose my password?

No — we never hold a key that can open your files. You get a recovery code at setup; keep it safe, because it is the only way back to your identity if you forget your password or move to a new computer. Nobody else — not us, not a breach of our servers — can open your files.

Can ARIA LOCK lock my Gmail?

No. Gmail lives on Google's servers, so there is no file on your PC to lock. ARIA LOCK can lock a mailbox you have downloaded (Outlook or Thunderbird): when locked, no one can open that mail on your computer without your password. We never claim to lock your online account.

If I copy a locked file elsewhere, is it still locked?

Yes. The lock lives inside the file, so copy it to a USB, email it, or move it to another computer — it stays locked, and only your password opens it.

Why does Windows warn when I install it?

ARIA LOCK is from a new publisher, so Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen. Click More info, then Run anyway. We are working toward a signed release; in the meantime you can scan the installer yourself before running it.

The things that matter most should be the hardest to open.
