Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 5 August 2026

These terms govern your use of software and services provided by ARIA ("ARIA", "we", "us"), including the ARIA OCR, ARIA PDF, ARIA REPAIR, ARIA SHIELD and ARIA LOCK desktop applications and this website. By installing or using the software, you agree to them.

1. The licence we grant you

When you buy a licence, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use one copy of the software on one computer at a time, for the term you paid for.

You own your licence key and the documents you produce. You do not own the software itself; it remains our property and is licensed, not sold.

You may

  • use the software for commercial work, including work you bill clients for;
  • move your licence to a different computer, using the account page or by asking us;
  • keep and use the Word and text files you produce, without restriction and without any obligation to us.

You may not

  • share, resell, sublicense or publish your licence key;
  • run one licence on several computers at the same time;
  • attempt to bypass, patch or remove the licence check, or help others to do so;
  • decompile or reverse-engineer the software, except where the law expressly permits it despite this clause;
  • use the software to process documents you have no legal right to process.

2. Trial licences

The free trial is limited to a per-product allowance — ten pages in ARIA OCR, twenty-five in ARIA PDF, three files in ARIA REPAIR (each within seven days), five locks in ARIA LOCK, and a time-limited trial in ARIA SHIELD — and is available once per computer per product. The allowance is carried in the signed licence and shown in the application. Files exported during a trial may carry a footer or marker identifying them as trial output. Removing that marker, or otherwise presenting trial output as licensed output, is a breach of these terms.

3. Activation and how the licence check works

Activating a licence requires an internet connection once. During activation the software sends us your licence key and a fingerprint derived from your computer's hardware. It does not send your documents. After activation the software works offline until the licence expires.

The software periodically re-checks the licence stored on your computer. Moving your system clock backwards is detected and will cause the software to refuse to run.

4. Term, expiry and renewal

A licence runs for the term you bought. Once it expires the software stops working, except that we allow a seven-day grace period after expiry so that a renewal in progress does not interrupt your work.

Nothing renews automatically. We do not store your payment details and cannot charge you again without you choosing to pay. Renewing extends your existing expiry date rather than restarting it, so renewing early never costs you days you have already paid for.

5. Price and payment

Prices are shown on the pricing page in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card details.

We may change our prices at any time. A change never affects a licence you have already bought, for its remaining term.

6. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Updates

Updates released during your licence term are included at no extra cost. We are not obliged to release any particular update, or to keep supporting old versions of Windows indefinitely.

8. What we promise, and what we do not

We promise that the software will perform substantially as described on this website, and that we will make a genuine effort to fix defects you report.

We do not promise that optical character recognition will be perfectly accurate. Recognition is inherently approximate and its results depend on the quality of your original document. The website states plainly, before purchase, that running handwriting and heavily stylised display type are not read reliably.

You are responsible for checking the output before relying on it. The software marks words it read with low confidence precisely so that you can. Do not use unchecked output in a legal, financial or medical context.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the software is limited to the amount you paid us for the licence in question during the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss or corruption of data, however caused.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

10. Suspending or revoking a licence

We may revoke a licence, without refund, if it is shared or resold, if the licence check is deliberately circumvented, or if the software is used unlawfully. Where we reasonably can, we will contact you first.

11. Your documents

ARIA software processes your documents entirely on your own computer. We do not receive, store or have any access to them. See the Privacy Policy for what little data we do hold.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published here when you buy is the version that governs that purchase for its term. Material changes will be noted by the "last updated" date above.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Belagavi, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction, save that a consumer may bring proceedings in their local jurisdiction where the law gives them that right.
